Changing Direction

(above picture is an ad)

When I mentioned that I was thinking about starting this blog back up people told me to use it to make a niche for myself, as in, find something that I loved or was knowledgeable about and make the entire blog about that - "it's the only way you will get people to read your blog".

So that's what I did.  I took my work, Correctional Nursing and one of my favorite hobbies and combined them to start up.... And at first, I thought, this is great!  But then, after I made the first post on nursing, I found I didn't particularly enjoy writing it.  The same thoughts were there when writing the second post and, as I was writing up the third nursing post, I thought to myself, this is not as much fun as I want it to be.

A few days ago, I had someone assume that I was doing the blog for financial reasons (probably because of the ads and Amazon affiliate links), and I know I had no reason to justify what I was doing to them, but I was so taken aback that I did explain it; one, because seriously, the audacity of some people and two, because I am not doing it for financial reasons at all!  The links and ads are just there to justify the time I am/will be spending on the blog, which made me think, 'why am I limiting myself?'.  I am a very complicated and unique individual, I am not doing it for the fame or the money - it's supposed to be fun, therapeutic even, full of things I find interesting...

So with that in mind, I am writing up this post to let anyone whom has been reading through my posts that I am changing directions.  I will still inevitably write about nursing things but this blog is going to be an eclectic, organized chaos of whatever I want it to be with many, many fun giveaways - because that's what I like!
